Editorial policy
Who publishes the articles on the ZeroTell blog, the rules they follow, how AI tools are part of the process and what we do when we get something wrong.
Who publishes the blog
The ZeroTell blog is published by ZeroTell, which is operated by ZeroTell SI Inc. Articles appear under the byline “ZeroTell Editorial Team”, and ZeroTell is responsible for everything published under that name.
This policy applies to every article on the blog, in every language we publish it in.
What we write about
We write practical guides for students, teachers, non-native English writers and professionals. Topics include essays, grammar, citations, emails and study topics such as math, as well as AI: how AI detectors work, what their scores mean and how to use AI honestly at school and at work.
Each article opens with a short, direct answer to the question it covers, then gives the details, examples and steps you need.
Our editorial rules
Every article is written for its topic. We don't copy, paraphrase or restructure other publishers' articles, and examples and templates are written fresh for each article.
We don't invent facts: no made-up statistics, studies, percentages, accuracy rates, quotes, experts or testimonials. We state only facts that are widely documented, and we phrase uncertain points carefully.
We don't teach ways to get around AI detectors or plagiarism checks, and we don't promise that any text will pass one.
We describe AI detection honestly. Detection is probabilistic, a score is a signal rather than proof of who wrote something, and human writing can be flagged by mistake.
Citation guides follow APA 7th edition and MLA 9th edition. Where we aren't sure which edition of a style guide is current, we describe the rule without naming an edition.
How we use AI
Articles are drafted with the help of AI writing tools and checked against these rules before publishing.
Updates and corrections
Every article shows the date it was published, or the date of its latest update if we have revised it.
If you spot an error, tell us through the contact page. Include the article's link and what you think is wrong. If we agree, we correct the article and update its date.
Independence and disclosure
ZeroTell makes writing and detection tools, including an AI detector, an AI humanizer, a plagiarism checker and citation tools. When an article compares ZeroTell with other products or reviews another product, it says that ZeroTell publishes the blog and makes competing tools.
Comparisons describe only publicly documented features. If we can't confirm a current price or limit, we leave it out and point you to the product's own page. We mention our own tools only where they help with the task an article is about.

We make competing tools, so we aren't a neutral party, and every comparison says so. We stick to publicly documented features and leave out prices or limits we can't confirm.
