A simple count for real drafts
Use the count while you edit an essay, article, application, report or social post. The counter updates as you type and keeps the text in your browser.
Reading time uses the average silent-reading speed of the page language (about 228 words a minute in English, 255 characters a minute in Chinese and 357 in Japanese); speaking time uses a steady presentation pace of about 150 words a minute. Both are estimates, and your own pace will vary.

No. This counter calculates the figures in your browser and does not send the text to the AI tool API.
ZeroTell divides your text by an average reading speed for the language, for example about 228 words a minute in English, and counts Chinese and Japanese by characters. Treat it as a guide rather than a promise about how long every reader will take.
Each Chinese or Japanese character counts as one word, the convention word processors use for these languages. Korean and languages written with spaces are counted by the spaces between words.
