A math solver that shows its work

Every answer is a worked solution you can follow, check and learn from.

  • Steps you can follow

The method is named first, then each step shows the working and the reason behind it — no skipped algebra.

  • Real math notation

Fractions, roots, integrals, matrices and Greek letters render as proper math, not plain-text approximations.

  • Solve from a photo

Upload, drop or paste a screenshot of the problem. The solver writes down what it read first, so you can spot a misread before trusting the answer.

  • A check of every answer

Each solution ends with a verification — substituting back, differentiating, estimating or checking units and domain.

From algebra to calculus and statistics

  • Algebra & precalculus

Linear and quadratic equations, inequalities, systems, exponents, logarithms, functions and graph features.

  • Geometry & trigonometry

Areas, volumes, angles, triangle rules, identities and trigonometric equations, with each formula stated.

  • Calculus

Limits, derivatives, integrals and series — the rule used (chain, product, substitution, parts) is named at each step.

  • Statistics & probability

Mean, standard deviation, probability rules, distributions and hypothesis-test basics, interpreted in context.

  • Linear algebra

Matrix operations, determinants, inverses and systems solved with row reduction.

  • Word problems

The story is translated into equations first, so you see how to set the problem up — the part most students find hardest.

How to use the AI math solver

  1. Enter the problem

Type or paste it, or add a photo or screenshot. You can add both — for example the photo plus a note on which part you need.

  2. Pick the topic and style

Leave the topic on automatic or choose one, then pick full steps, concise steps or hints first.

  3. Follow the solution

Read the method, work through the numbered steps and compare the final answer with your own attempt.

  4. Check and practice

Use the check-your-work step and the key takeaway to try a similar problem on your own.

Learn the method, not just the answer

  • Hints-first mode

Choose “Hints first, answer last” to get nudges for each step before the full solution appears.

  • Honest about uncertainty

If a photo is blurry or a problem is missing information, the solver says what is unclear instead of guessing.

  • Follow your course's rules

Use worked solutions to study and check your own work. Many courses limit AI help on graded work — when in doubt, ask your teacher.

Frequently asked questions

Arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, calculus, linear algebra, statistics, probability and word problems. Very long proofs or research-level problems may need a human expert.

Yes. Add a PNG, JPG or WebP image up to 5 MB — choose a file, drop it on the box or paste a screenshot. The solution starts by writing out the problem as it was read, so you can confirm it matches.

No AI solver is right every time, which is why every solution shows each step and ends with a check. Follow the reasoning and compare it with your own work rather than copying the result.

Not on the Pro plans* (*fair use: up to 300 runs a day across the writing, study and code tools). Without a plan, a typed problem uses 2 credits and a problem with a photo 3, because reading the image costs more to process. Signed-out visitors can preview the start of a solution for free.

Use it to understand methods, check your answers and practice. Follow your school's or course's rules on AI tools — many do not allow AI help on graded assignments or exams.

Solutions are written in the language of the page you are using. Math notation is the same in every language.
